Why Idaho?
Idaho is a beautiful state, with more than 70% of the state designated for public use there are plenty of scenic landscapes and outdoor activities. Idaho also ranks #5 on the list of most river miles in a state with 107 miles of rivers. Additionally, Idaho is home of some of the best natural hot springs. What could be better than soaking in warm, mineral-rich water surrounded by the beauty of nature? There are many hot springs and mineral pools in both resorts and in the mountains and plains, which are open for the public to use and enjoy. Some are so remote that you can only ski, hike or 4X4 into. Idaho is also home to some of the world’s best trout fishing.
According to “The Outdoor Trip” Idaho is rated #4 for top trout fishing states! Henry’s Lake in Island Park is a top spot for that!
The Boise, Idaho real estate market continues to grow where home values have been outpacing the national average since 2011. For years Boise has been seen as a great spot and target in the western states, where people can escape unaffordable housing, overcrowded cities, high taxes and a diminishing quality of life.
Hiring in Idaho Falls
The Idaho Falls, Idaho area is also experiencing tremendous growth, with the average selling price of a home in Bonneville County reaching an all-time high in 2018 of $218,714 said Greater Idaho Falls Association of Realtors president Brett Magleby. That’s about $21,000, or 11 percent, higher than 2017’s average of $197,699.
Idaho is home to some of the best public educational facilities such as Boise State University, Idaho State University, University of Idaho, and Eastern Idaho Technical College, as well as College of Southern Idaho and College of Western Idaho. And Private schools include Northwest Nazarene University and Brigham Young University – Idaho.
Idaho has a long history of innovation. Philo Farnsworth of Rigby is credited with the first electronic television set, and we all know J.R. Simplot as the man behind frozen French fries. Idaho’s inventors have been able to harness brilliant ideas to change the world.
That still holds true today. Idaho is home to the only US-based memory chip maker, Micron Technology, and is the center of Hewlett-Packard’s highly profitable Imaging and Printing Group, which introduced the HP LaserJet printer. Nearly 50,000 people work in Idaho’s innovation industry, and they’re pushing technology boundaries, launching start-ups, and fueling further growth and discovery. Technology and innovation are strong drivers of Idaho’s economy.
